National Assembly Clampdown On Legislative Aides Agitating Over Unpaid Allowances Since 2015

The arrow-head of legislative aides agitation, Mr Olutoye Ibitoye has been arrested by the department of state security (DSS) over the impending showdown with National Assembly management over unpaid legislative aides allowances since 2015.


According to the Discourse, the legislative aides numbering over 2,500 are being owed 6 quarters Duty Tour Allowances (DTA) cummulatively since 2015.

One of the legislative aide who pleaded anonymity with the Discourse stated that apart from the unpaid allowances, most legislative aides have been deprived of quarterly trainings since the inception of the 8th Assembly. He further stated that all efforts to reach Management to settle the outstanding arrears has proved abortive.
