The singer's label announced (and the RIAA confirmed) on Thursday (June 22) that Perry's "Roar" has earned a Diamond Song Award from the Recording Industry Association of America, meaning the track has passed the 10-million threshold of equivalent song units moved in the U.S.
That certification comes on top of previous Diamond song certifications for her earlier hits "Dark Horse" and "Firework," which, according to Perry's label, Capitol Music Group, makes her the first artist in history to earn three Diamond Song awards.
