Meet Oluwaseun David Adepoju, a Technology ADVOCATE!!

"Oluwaseun David Adepoju @tabanaku3 is a Technology and Innovation Ecosystem Advocate". If he is not talking technology and helping technology startups, you will definitely find him reading on technology. During an interview with DMB, he said his belief is that, technology would bring the creative economy we have always wanted in Nigeria.

Oluwaseun is the founder of a social enterprise called TECHmIT Africa. He started TECHmIT Africa as a technology advocacy organization and has evolved overtime into a full blown technology entrepreneurship and startup acceleration organization.

"I had some shocking revelations about technological backwardness few years ago when I lost a PhD admission in the Netherlands because an individual in Nigeria that was supposed to attest to my candidacy failed to reply a mail sent from the Netherlands. I felt if something as small as replying emails is a problem for the academics in Nigeria in the 21st century, then something must be done. So I started TECHmIT Africa as a technology advocacy organization and has evolved overtime into a full blown technology entrepreneurship and startup acceleration organization. So in TECHmIT Africa, me and my team members drives technology advocacies and also labour tirelessly on the tech startup scene in idea tweaking and venture support".

He is known in a lot of relevant technology circles as Ibadan number 1 Tech influencer, a man of many parts... Two times TEDX speaker, former UN Youth Forum chairman, he bagged two Postgraduate Degrees in two continents and he is about to pursue a third one.

You are a man of many parts... Two times TEDX speaker, former UN youth forum chairman, bagged two postgraduate degrees in two continents and rumor has it that you are about to pursue a third one. How do you keep a level head in our celebrity centric generation?

Laughs... I would answer this question with just one proverb that says and I quote, " those whose palm kernel was broken by a benevolent spirit should not forget to be humble ". This gives credence to my former standpoints on service to humanity. Every platform should be an opportunity to yet impact one's society in a greater capacity.

When asked what project he is currently working on, he said in recognition of their technology advocacy in Ibadan, they have started arguably the most listened to tech radio program in Ibadan with active listenership in 10 countries across 4 continents on Wells Radio, Ibadan on the TECH-TUESDAY SHOW. According to him, "We are glad organizations like Wells Radio are actively committed to redefine the Ibadan narrative".

Also, TECHmIT Africa is on course to pioneer the foremost acceleration program in the city of Ibadan with a prize of 2000USD.

What do you see yourself becoming in the next 10years?

As regards my corporate work at TECHmIT Africa, our hope is to have one of our tech startups in our various cohorts become a publicly listed company in the Nigerian stock exchange with a market capitalization not of 5billion naira.
